Creation: statements about art making and world design

Arts on Union is the permanent location for work by resident artist Christine Goldbeck, who recently completed a series of seven 36-by-48 canvases based on the story of creation as told in Genesis and advocated by the science world. The series, “Evolution Theory,” will receive its premiere exhibition in July at WITF Public Media Center in Harrisburg.

“Layers and layers of meaning are in each canvas,” Goldbeck said. “Symbols, dried flowers from our garden, aluminum foil into which I drew, cheesecloth, modeling paste, models of the hands and feet of our kids and grandchildren appear on the canvases.”
