Without Walls – art show of the digital age
by Christine Goldbeck
Involvement in Square Inches of Love has me thinking about digital artmaking and exhibition. One of the team members behind Square Inches of Love, Mark Reeves, asked about my MFA-IA thesis and I was compelled to go back in time, to the early 2000s to see what I was thinking about and working on. Come with me, please. You don’t even have to put on your shoes and coat.
Let’s go explore. OR
If you prefer a little more organization with your exploration, try it this way:
1. Home (Nav bar at bottom will take you to:)
2. Introduction with links to digital art projects I completed.
3. Covalent Bonds at Rhizome’s Artbase, a digital arts exhition into which the work was juried. Covalent Bonds is a hyperfiction, which you can learn about here.
4. My Coal Country … I loved this collaboration with the community … I still do… be a little patient and wait for the music where it is noted to be, please and thanks. Here is my favorite image/audio page.
5. History is NOT Destiny - wherein Christine uses early digital art to advocate for certain changes.
6.Voice of Home - an early Adobe Flash project.
I apologize for any broken links. One of the things I re- realized is that the permanence of this project and the exhibitions gives me full opportunity to go back and fix links, update thoughts, etc …
